“Vibrating Surface” prototype exhibited during eTextile Cuvée 2016
During 22 – 30 of July 2016 took place the 5th edition of E-textiles Summer Camp in Paillard France. The eTextile Summer Camp is a week-long event that brings together expert practitioners from the fields of eTextiles and Soft Circuitry. Gathering in the countryside of France, the camp offers participants space and opportunity to come together professionally and casually to exchange knowledge, share skills through hands-on workshops and engage in discourse around current topics.
Tincuta Heinzel took part in the summer camp and was part of Harvesting Textiles group. During 4 days the group developed samples of new materials combining textile techniques, technology and nature. The participants grew crystals, cooked bioplastics with maizena and/or agar with food colouring, made bioplastics from banana peels, made aquafaba meringues with LEDs, made all kinds of kombuchas with electronics and dyes, made soft robotics with nitinol and we foraged big fungi.
Tincuta also exhibited “Vibrating Surface” prototype developed in the frame of “An Internet of Soft Things” project during eTextile Cuvée 2016 exhibition. It is an installation build up with the help of 20 vibrating motors that reacts to the presence of visitors.
